About Alan Randall Steinberg
Well versed in communications, business strategy, and public outreach, Alan Randall Steinberg currently heads The Valence Group, Inc., in Los Angeles. To assist his clients, which include law offices, not-for-profit groups, and financial services firms, he draws on nearly two decades of professional experience in public service, non-profit and private companies. Alan Randall Steinberg also continues to maintain involvement in the community through his position as a member of the Board of Directors of the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation at the University of California, Los Angeles.
In the private sector, Steinberg previously held a leadership role at Cadforce. As Vice President of Marketing and Communications, he counseled the Chief Executive Officer on proper interviewing practices, created and oversaw the company's marketing budget, and rebranded the firm. Earlier, as the head of Steinberg/Allen Communications, he aided Mission Community Hospital in securing a tax-exempt bond for $2 million and helped Ricon Corporation grow business by more than $1.4 million.
In public service, he served as Business Development Representative for former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan’s Office of Economic Development. In this capacity, he oversaw the transfer of a land parcel worth $3.5 million from General Motors to the City of Los Angeles and collaborated with community groups and government agencies to redevelop a dormant GM plant and create 1,500 new jobs. Prior to working for the Mayor’s Office, he was Assistant Director of the Los Angeles office of the Anti-Defamation League.
